Help us to raise funds!
We would ask our supporters and volunteers to consider supporting the Comber Foundationby helping us to raise much needed funds. We understand that everyone has different constraints on their time so there are several different ways in which you can help us to continue to make a real and lasting positive difference to the lives of disabled and disadvantaged people in Romania:
1. Hosting a cake and coffee morning
This is a simple way to raise funds in your workplace, local community or even just at home with your family and friends. All you need is a venue; some cakes/ buns (homemade or bought); and coffee and tea. We have posters which you can put up to advertise the event. Emma is also available to help support your event if you would like to advertise it online (Facebook or our website) or even issue a press release to your local papers.
2. How many sweets in the jar
This is a great fundraising event if you work in a busy environment and a coffee morning would not be possible. Simply contact Emma and she will arrange to deliver a large glass jar full of sweets to you. Then you simply need to place the jar in your workplace with the attached guess sheet and a collection box for the money. Each guess will cost £1 and the winner who is closest to the exact number enclosed will receive the jar and its contents.
3. Monthly Direct Debit
We would ask you to consider donating £5 a month to the Comber Foundation as a direct debit. If each volunteer was able to ask a friend/ family member to also sign up for a £5 direct debit then this would really start to be an effective way for us to raise funds. If you would be interested in setting up a direct debit, then please contact Sinead at info@comber.ie or call Emma on 0845 301 1057.
We really do appreciate your support and thank you for considering supporting us in any/ all of the above ways, every penny raised will go straight to the Comber Foundation.
If you would like any information on fundraising, or perhaps you have another idea which you would like help with, then please feel free to contact Emma on 07402 997 698 or email emma@comber.ie at any point.

What our past volunteers have to say
“I really enjoyed my experience in Romania and gained so much from the 5 weeks I spent working there. I think if anything the programme exceeded any expectations I had. A brilliant experience."- 2011 Comber Volunteer
The work with Comber made me feel vital and enthusiastic and it has reignited my love for my job and working for individuals with disabilities. It has made me thirsty for new challenges and has given me confidence to pursue avenues that I may not have faced before. It has shown me the complexities of working within other cultures, but how these differences make our world such a colourful and exciting place to live. And without a doubt this experience has given me a love for Romania and the Romanian people that will stay with me for as long as I live.” - 2010 Comber Volunteer
