George Hook, Patron of the Comber Foundation:

Having accompanied volunteers from Comber to Romania, I have witnessed the tireless work they do in trying to close down state run institutions in Giurgiu County. This requires help from you at perhaps the most difficult economic times. Please find a little time in your heart for young adults that perhaps unknowingly will owe you a debt of gratitude for the rest of their lives.”

Staff training in Giurgiu in Behavioural Strategies for Professionals

Mark Harrold, Clinical Psychologist with HSE and Rehab-care Dundalk, Ireland, travelled to Romania in March to provide training for staff in the Comber homes in Giurgiu. The course trained staff members in the most effective strategies for preventing and responding to challenging behaviour in people with intellectual disabilities and was extremely well received. We are really appreciative of Mark’s input & a follow up course has already been re-quested by staff in Giurgiu!
